PRISMA CLINIC SPOTLIGHT
-
What made you chose our clinic during your fellowship?
I chose to rotate in the CADD/PRISMA clinic during my second year of child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Brown due to my deep interest in working with individuals on the autism spectrum. Having grown up with a brother who has autism, this passion began at an early age and further evolved over the course of my education and training having witnessed first-hand the hope that our ever-growing knowledge of pharmacology, genetics, and behavioral therapies can provide to these individuals and their families. The richness of each child/adolescent/young adult’s unique strengths, challenges, and personalities further adds to the fun and to challenge of this work.

Any advice for upcoming fellows in the clinic?
My advice for anyone considering a rotation in this clinic would be to ask lots of questions and to take full advantage of the incredible expertise that surrounds you in this program, as I find himself using the lessons that I learned here every day in my early career as an attending (which includes an outpatient clinic where I treat adolescents and young adults with autism and other developmental disabilities at Butler Hospital).

What is your "thing"?
My specific interest (my “thing,” if you will) outside of work is fishing, particularly fly fishing, as I enjoy chasing trout, striped bass, and other species of fish both locally and afar.
